Observations on the Flora of Harishchandragarh, Sahyadri Range, Maharashtra

Abstract

The paper presents an account of the vegetation of Harishchandragarh, Maharashtra State, an interesting area unexplored since Dalzell’s time (1861). Dicraea dichotoma (Gardn.) Tull, is collected for the first lime from Sahyadri ranges of Western ghats. A new verlety namely Abelmoschus manihot (L.) Medic, up. Utraphyllus (Roxb. ex Hornem.) Borss. var. megaspermus Hemadri is alio described. In all 330 species comprising 245 genera, representing 87 families of Angiosperms have been enumerated.
