Plagiochila junghuhniana (Marchantiophyta: Plagiochilaceae), new to Western Himalayan Bryoflora

Abstract

During the bryoexploratory survey of Cedrus deodara (Roxb. ex D.Don) G.Don forest site at Lohaghat, a South East Asiatic species of Plagiochila (Dumort.) Dumort., viz. P. junghuhniana Sande Lac. belonging to the section Vagae Lindenb. of the family Plagiochilaceae is observed. Plagiochila junghuhniana is described and illustrated here as a new addition to western Himalayas.
