Two new generic records of Pleurocarpic Mosses for Eastern Himalaya

Abstract

The genus Amblstegium with the species A. serpens (Amblystegiaceae) and the genus Gollania with the species G. clarescens (Hypnaceae) have been recorded as new to the Eastern Himalayan region from Darjeeling as well as Kalimpong district of West Bengal. A. serpens and G. clarescens are quite little known in India, hence detailed description and illustration of both the recorded species have been provided based on recent collections.
